Projects

Centrecare and ETNTAC have partnered to deliver an Indigenous Advancement Strategy (Commonwealth)  project.  This IAS project recognises the impact of past trauma, dispossession, separation of families, ongoing social disadvantage, racism and other historical, social and cultural issues that impact on the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities.

The IAS project is intended to assist in the process of healing for people affected by past removal policies, working with a minimum of thirty (30) Indigenous families and 120 individuals per financial year in the towns of Esperance, Gibson and Norseman with children in the age groups of 0-4 years, 5-11 years, and 12-18 years. Activities and engagement with the priority group will recognise the importance of extended families and the wider community in the lives of Indigenous children.
